Andrea FARRENA - Producer

Over the past eighteen years Andrea has produced films across Europe, Asia and the U.S. Early in her career, she worked on a number of short films which earned critical acclaim and won various awards and nominations on the international festival circuit. Her documentary RED SANDS, a thought-provoking insight into Spanish culture and bull fighting, became the first ever documentary to be nominated for Best British Short at the British Independent Film awards (BIFAs).

Two years later Andrea completed her first independent feature, a black comedy entitled THE KILLERS and then went on to produce feature documentary THE RAREST FILM IN THE WORLD which traced the story of two friends from Essex who discover a lost Charlie Chaplin film on eBay. 

Andrea’s more recent work includes THE LIGHTS, which was selected for Film London’s 'London Calling' scheme, and THE OTHER SIDE WITH VALERIE HOPE which was produced as part of the Creative England/BFI Alumni fund.

When not working on narrative projects, Andrea produces online commercials, multi-camera live events, documentaries, and 2D/3D animations for global brands. Her clients include the RFU, Sotheby’s, Microsoft, American Express, and L'Oréal. She has worked as an agent representing actors and directors and co-founded THE UK ACTORS TWEETUP - an actors and filmmakers monthly networking event in London. As co-director, Andrea expanded the events into TWEETFEST - a BIFA-qualifying short film festival that’s been running for nine years. She has also been part of BFI Network x Bafta Crew.

Andrea is currently living in South Africa, working with SHAKYRA DOWLING CASTING and developing a slate of feature films to produce under the Farrena Films umbrella.
